Our Student Leadership groups through the Student Council have, since 2011, sponsored a child through WorldVision Australia.
Nicolleta's farming community is part of the Robert Sinyoka Project in Zimbabwe.
Droughts regularly affect livelihoods in this farming community. Most illnesses are often left untreated, due to a lack of money to pay for health fees and the deteriorating national health system. HIV and AIDS related illnesses are a common problem, with the number of orphaned and vulnerable children increasing. Many need assistance with school fees, food, clothing and shelter, putting more pressure on household incomes. Most houses have inadequate and overcrowded conditions, and this situation is worsening as more families care for the increasing number of orphans.
Our sponsorship assists with:
- Education on HIV and AIDS and other preventable diseases
- Immunisation programs for children under five
- Improving health facilities and health and sanitation education
- Support for vulnerable children and orphans
- Training in income generating skills and support for credit and savings groups
- Training in nutrition and maternal health for mothers

I took part in children's clubs. I was able to promote change for children in my community while having fun with my friends.
I received new blankets to keep me and my family warm.
My family took part in parenting workshops. We learned the importance of showing love to our children and strengthening our family.
30 pairs of medical gloves were given to health facilities, community health workers and caregivers, helping them to avoid catching and spreading COVID-19.
25 handwashing supplies like soap, detergent and buckets were given to community members, helping to protect children and families from COVID-19.
My family took part in activities to provide an improved water supply in our community. We worked with others in our community to build a water source that will provide safe water for children.
