Children from all grades are invited to dress as their favourite book character on Tuesday 23 August.
A parade will be held in the hall from Prep and Year 1 at 9am;
Year 2 & 3 at 10am. Parents are invited to attend.
Years 4-6 will have an opportunity to see those in these year levels in costume in the morning in the undercover area before going into class. Please don’t feel costumes need take up a lot of your time or money. Be creative with what you have at home.
As part of the lead up to Book Week, teachers have been reading their class the 6 books from the Early Childhood section of the Children’s Book Council of Australia competition. Coorparoo students will have the opportunity to vote for which of the 6 is their favourite, and we will also announce which book was chosen by the CBCA to win this section.
Children have been helping to produce displays in the library for each of the 6 books, and some have been participating in lunchtime activities in the library. Last week the book What Do Your Call Your Grandma? Was read and some children added the name for their own grandma to the display!
You are welcome to pop into the library for a look at the displays.
