The Senior Athletics Carnival will take place on Monday 12 June and Tuesday 13 June in Week 9.
A schedule of events and activities will be released soon. Stay tuned!
There will be 6 Championship Events available to students during the Senior Athletics Carnival. Below is a list of the events:
- Long Jump
- High Jump
- Shot Put
- 100m (all students will run a heat during rotations)
- 200m (Final only on Athletics Carnival)
*Please note that all of these events will go towards Age Champion.
*All students in Years 3-6 will compete against their own age group i.e the year they were born.
*If students are not competing in championship events, they will be competing in the participation events, which consist of the same events as listed above.
This year, students will be placed into Championship events during PE lessons. All students will still be given the opportunity to enter a championship event if they wish however, there are qualifying distances and heights that need to be met.
200m timed heats will be run next Tuesday 30 May for Grade 4 and 5 students and Thursday 1 June for our Grade 5 and 6 students, during the last session for any student that has nominated to race. Nominations are being collected by Mrs Elliott this week. The fastest 6 students from each age group will then run in the 200m Final on Athletics Day.
Please note, if students are absent on the above dates, then we will do catch up time trials on Friday 2 June, during second break. This will include students who are involved in our school AFL team.
