Brisbane City Council is upgrading the Coorparoo Junction around Cavendish Road, Old Cleveland Road, and Tarlina Lane. This project impacts on our school front and the lane entrance.

The project has engaged an artist to run a workshop with a small group of students. This workshop may be used as inspiration for the larger project or complement the engagement strategy of community arts and community renewal.

Artist – Chantal Fraser – will be facilitating an arts and crafts workshop for up to 20 school students as part of the Coorparoo Junction Village Precinct Project.

We're seeking fabric, garments made from interesting materials, textures, and patterns (metallic material, sequins, sparkly), old jewellery, earrings, beads, charms, trinkets, belt buckles, saris, scarves, hand fans, bangles, pendants, rope, old costumes, and dress ups. Maximum 1-2 items per donation.

During the workshop, participants will use these materials to each create something special that can be worn using the materials sourced collectively through the school community.

We would like donations of small pieces of fabric that might have meaning to you. These could be part of an old cultural dress such as a sari or a baby blanket, but if it has meaning and shows different textures it will have greater impact.

DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM MONDAY 15 NOVEMBER UNTIL WEDNESDAY 17 NOVEMBER IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE.
