Extreme Weather Update

Dear Parents/carers,

The Director General of Education has advised that following:

The Premier announced that South East QLD is experiencing​  ongoing and unpredictable extreme weather. There is significant concerns about storms and flooding in the next 24 hours.

Coorparoo State School is not experiencing any direct impact at this time, and our school will remain open for our students today. Parents do have the option of collecting students if they are concerned about the storms, or are impacted by local flooding.

Tomorrow, Friday 4 March, schools will be open only for children of essential workers and children experiencing vulnerability in the following areas: 

  • Brisbane City Council
  • Bundaberg Council
  • Fraser Coast Regional Council
  • Ipswich City Council
  • Moreton Bay Regional Council
  • Noosa Shire council
  • Sunshine Coast Council
  • Lockyer Valley
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • City of Gold Coast Council
  • Logan City Council
  • Redland City Council
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council 
  • Gympie Regional Council
  • Wide Bay up to Bundaberg

Coorparoo State School will be open for children of essential workers and vulnerable students tomorrow.
