Harmony Day is on Tuesday 21 March 2023 and we will be celebrating the day at Coorparoo State School. Harmony Day celebrates the cultural diversity in our school, community and country.
All students and staff are encouraged to wear Orange on the day.
Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week.
Children are also requested to make their own flag representing their culture or cultures. This can be pinned to their shirts.
On the Harmony Day there will be a handball competition for grades 4, 5 and 6. Students can form teams of two players, then sign up in week 7 and 8. The Harmony Day Handball Challenge will commence in week 9 on Harmony Day. This will be held in the undercover play area in front of B Block.
For Prep-3, there will be an art activity on the 21 March. This will be held in the Lahey Studio at Wolff Park at First Break.
It will be a wonderful day to celebrate all the different cultures that make our school community special.
