In memory of Leon Seymour Corbett, who enlisted in the 42nd Battalion B company of the Australian Army on the 18 September 1915.

Leon Corbett enrolled at Coorparoo State School on the 30 August 1900. His family lived on Wilton Street, Woolloongabba.

His brother Stanley Corbett who also attended Coorparoo State School also enlisted in the Australian Army.

Leon departed for Europe on board HMAT Borda on the 5 June 1916 with fellow CSS student Thomas Gardner, I wonder if they spoke about their days at CSS?

Leon arrived on the Western Front in France on the 15 November 1917.

Leon Seymour Corbett was reported killed in action on the 30 March 1918 aged 22.

He is buried at Heilly Station Cemetery in France and is recorded on the Australian Roll of Honour at the War memorial in Canberra on panel 135. He too is included on the CSS Roll of honour.

We will remember him.
