Lorin Nicholson OAM Returns to Coorparoo State School

*Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 March 2022*

Lorin Nicholson will present two individual days to all year 5 and year 6 students this term. His award-winning curriculum-based performance has a proven track record of changing attitudes and outcomes both in and out of the classroom. Acclaimed in 1400 schools, with outstanding feedback from educators around the country and the globe, Lorin's inspirational performance is extremely engaging and authentic, with a focus on:

β€’ Student Learning β€’ Resilience β€’ Positive Behaviour β€’ Anti-bullying β€’ Higher Achievement

As a highly accomplished blind person, Lorin's inspirational performance is extremely engaging and authentic, as he shares with students his clear method of success through practical demonstrations and powerful life experiences.

The performance has been designed so that each student will experience and learn firsthand how to increase their own confidence, initiative, resilience, maturity and responsibility, as well as develop greater empathy, communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Students will also learn and connect with the one critical key that leads to success or failure in their own lives.

Lorin was declared legally blind at the age of four, however he was determined not to let his disability exclude him from living a full and meaningful life. With unrelenting grit and determination he successfully completed mainstream schooling and then went on to receive a college diploma with high distinctions. He was also an accomplished cyclist, swimmer and springboard diver in his youth.
