I hope that your children had a restful break during the term holidays. As we commence the new term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights from the previous term and share with you the exciting events and opportunities that lie ahead.
First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your support and active participation in our Early Childhood Celebration Morning. It was a joyous occasion filled with laughter, creativity, and proud moments as we witnessed our children at play. The event truly demonstrated the positive impact of a nurturing environment and collaborative efforts between teachers, students, and parents.
Additionally, our school community came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week, honouring the rich cultural heritage, achievements, and contributions of our Indigenous communities. The week was filled with engaging activities, guest speakers, and cultural sharing that allowed our students to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Furthermore, the Senior Sports Day was a resounding success, showcasing the sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination of our senior students. It was inspiring to witness their dedication and commitment to both individual and team events. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding efforts. Thank you to our Grounds staff and the PE department for their hard work to make this possible.
I am also pleased to share that our students' academic achievements were recognized in their report cards from the previous term. It is with great pride that we acknowledge their hard work, progress, and growth. Their success would not have been possible without the support and guidance provided by our dedicated teachers, as well as the commitment and involvement of parents and caregivers. Your partnership is truly invaluable in shaping the educational journey of our students.
As we embark on the new term, I am delighted to welcome everyone back and extend a warm welcome to new students and families joining our school community. We have some exciting developments to look forward to, including the grand opening of our Senior Playground this week. This project was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of our P&C, and it will provide our senior students with an enhanced outdoor space for physical activity, socialization, and creative play. Our children have been so excited and it has been a pleasure to see them playing!
This week we also celebrated the first 100 days of Prep! This was very exciting with many activities occurring in classes. Parents, it is hard to imagine how quickly these days have gone and how much our amazing little people have learnt!
Looking ahead, we have a host of events and activities planned for this term. Our Junior Sports Day promises to be a day of friendly competition and camaraderie, where our younger students will have the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities. Additionally, we are thrilled to participate in the upcoming Math Olympiad, where our students will engage in exciting mathematical challenges, fostering their problem-solving skills and love for mathematics.
I commend to you this week our School TV topic of “Happiness and Gratitude". It is important to build a family culture of wellbeing. It is not always continuous happiness, rather as the experts share with us a journey of wellbeing and resilience that we develop with our children. https://coorparooss.eq.schooltv.me/newsletter/happiness-gratitude
As always, I encourage you to stay connected with our school through our School Website, Facebook Page and regular communication channels. We greatly value your feedback, suggestions, and involvement in our school community.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to strive for excellence in education. Together, we can create a nurturing and inspiring environment for our students to thrive and succeed.
