Welcome back to school 2022. Thank you for your support and patience today as we work together to get our children back to learning. For many, today was the first day of your child’s schooling. This is an exciting time and can be challenging. It can be an emotional day for parents and children. Remember what we do, say, and how we act send messages to our children. If you are relaxed and excited about school they will be to. Each day this week our Prep teachers are meeting with parents to discuss their child and build our relationships together in their education. These meetings are happening in our hall each day from 12:30pm.

It is so great to see so many students back and ready to learn on day one! Many children have chosen to wear masks to school. Remember that if you wish your child to do so, we do have a supply of child size masks. But if you want to send your own or wear a colourful mask, that is ok to!

Thank you for staying home if sick and getting tested. If staff or students get sick at school we will be sending home a RAT test to administer before any return to school. Remember students and staff get priority testing at QLD Health sites.
Success looks different for every child. If your child is struggling at school or refusing to go to school, knowing you are on their side is what matters most. There is no one-size-fits-all simple solution to achieving success, but there are things you can do to help. Recognising your child’s ‘little wins’ will allow them to experience the thrill and endorphin hit of achievement. This builds their confidence and motivates them to want more. When you put the ‘little wins’ together, they can make a big difference. The Spark their Future website has tips on how to help your child succeed at school including a short video.

I am confident that 2022 is going to be a great year for our children. I look forward to working together to make this happen.
