Representative Swimming update (students born 2010, 2011 and 2012)

As per our previous message, Lytton Swim Trials will not take place this year. We are calling for paper nominations to select students to attend the Met East Swim Trials. Any times submitted must be swum at a recognised swimming event (Club/Brisbane/QLD/Swimming Australia). They must be long course times (only times swum in a 50m pool). Nominations need to be in by Monday, 14th of February at 9am. If you are considering nominating, please email Megan (mcarp16@equ.edu.au) as soon as possible. This helps me flag who is interested and provide additional details and support.

REPRESENTATIVE SPORT 2022

Students aged 10-12 yrs (born 2010, 2011 and 2012) have the opportunity to trial for various individual and team sports in 2022. The pathway is as follows: CSS trial, Lytton District Trial, Met East Regional Trial and QLD State Trial.

Most team sports are Under 12 trials with the exception of Netball and Rugby League (where an Under 11 team is also selected). There are 3 main individual sports-Swimming, Cross country and Athletics. Selection in these teams is based on Year of Birth ie. 10 Years students only compete against other 10 Years students.

Process for nominating for a team sport:

In-school trials are advertised through the QSchools App and via House Captains. Students need to sign-up to attend the school trial. Sign-up sheets can be found outside the PE office. When nominating, please keep in mind we can only send a small number of students (usually no more than 4). The nominated students must display a high degree of skill and game sense. We also ask that students play club (or have played club in the past) in the respective sport.

Process for nominating for an individual sport:

We use results from our school carnivals to select students to represent CSS in Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics.
