Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may already know, the Premier announced that the school year for QLD students will now commence in 7 February 2022. School will operate as normal from this date and we look forward to welcoming our new students and families.
Our teachers have already returned where possible, or they are working from home planning for our teaching this year. All school staff and contractors are double vaccinated. Masks are worn at all times in the school, and we are continuing to reinforce hygiene.

Already at this early stage many of our staff are currently unwell with COVID or have recovered. We do not know how things will progress, so staff shortages are going to be a challenge, but we are planning for this.

From Monday 24 January, school will be operating for students experiencing vulnerability and those whose parents are essential workers. Students will be able to attend school and will be provided supervision on school sites. An essential worker is someone who provides essential services and who is unable to work from home. This includes but is not limited to doctors, nurses and other front-line medical staff, retail workers, haulage drivers and police officers.

Students attending from the 24 January will be dropped off for the Prep to Year 2 Students to the under croft at Kijini at 8:45am. Students in Year 4 to 6 to the senior covered area at 8:45am. Students will then be brought back to these areas at 2:45pm ready for collection from parents or Helping Hands if you are enrolled with them.

If students are sick please keep them home. If students become unwell, you will be contacted to pick them up from school.

I am positive that working together we can keep our school open and children learning from school this year. Please stay safe and look after each other. Together we will make this a positive start to 2022.
