Wolff Park Inter-House Tournament

Football Fever Takes Over The Wolff Park Inter-House Tournament!

As the CommBank Matildas gear up to compete in the highly anticipated FIFA Women's World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, our very own Year 3 and Year 4 students are catching Football Fever with @footballaustralia.

Term 3 sees the start of The Football Fever Wolff Park Inter-House football tournament. This thrilling tournament will continue until the end of the term, providing our young football enthusiasts with an incredible opportunity to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

Matches in our tournament take place every Monday and Friday, with kick-off scheduled for 11:15 am. The excitement is palpable as six teams are participating in this spirited competition. Let's give a big cheer for Turner 1, Turner 2, Wentworth 1, Wentworth 2, Melba 1, and Melba 2!

The first match was an exhilarating contest between Turner 1 and Wentworth 2. The stands were filled with eager and enthusiastic fellow students, eagerly supporting their house teams. Turner 1 emerged victorious, displaying skilful and attack-minded football throughout the match. Their relentless determination and teamwork paid off, securing them a well-deserved win.

It's essential to acknowledge Wentworth 2's exceptional sportsmanship and dedication. Their unwavering support for one another and their display of wonderful sportsmanship throughout the match earned them the Football Fever Fair Play bonus point. We commend Wentworth 2 for setting a shining example of fair play and camaraderie on the field.

The excitement continues this Friday (14/07) as Turner 2 goes head-to-head against Wentworth 1. Expect another gripping match as these two talented teams battle it out on the field. We encourage all students to come out and cheer for their favourite team, filling the air with energy and support.

The Wolff Park Inter-House football tournament not only offers a platform for friendly competition but also teaches our students important life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of our young football stars and the effort they are putting into their matches.

We extend our gratitude to the teachers and sports captains who have made this tournament possible. Your support, guidance, and dedication to fostering a love for sports among our students is truly commendable.

Let's keep the Football Fever alive and embrace the joy of the game! We look forward to witnessing more exciting matches, celebrating sportsmanship, and cheering on our remarkable young athletes throughout the tournament. Good luck to all participating teams and c'mon the Matildas.
