Year 6 students will attend QCCC Mapleton Camp, to further build leadership and team skills throughout a range of different activities. We have named it the G.A.M.E camp to represent each student's individual Goals, Achievements, Memories and Experiences.
Activity Details:
Monday 16th August – Wednesday 18th August 2021
Departure: Buses will depart at 9:00am from Halstead Street. Students are to meet in MacCahon Hall at 8:30am on the first morning.
Return: Buses will return to school at approximately 2:45pm on Wednesday 18 August.
Venue: QCCC Mapleton, 70 Obi Obi Road, Mapleton 4560
Accommodation and Meals: The cost of this activity includes all meals and shared cabin style accommodation at the venue. Special dietary requirements will be catered for.
Activities: Students will participate in a variety of instructor-led activities that may include archery, canoeing, indoor rock climbing, bush skills, rope courses, giant swing, flying fox and outdoor team-based problem solving challenges. Students will also participate in an evenuing TribalLink dance program. A draft schedule appears at the end of this information package. Risk assessments have been undertaken on all proposed activities to ensure the safety for every student. Please contact me directly if you have any questions regarding these.

Year 6 teachers as well as other Coorparoo State School staff will accompany the students on camp.
Equipment & Dress: For each of the activities students are to wear comfortable, sun safe clothing. As some activities require the wearing of harnesses, collared shirts and longer shorts are preferred for these activities. A detailed list of what to pack for camp will be distributed closer to the camp dates.
Activity Costs:
The total cost of this activity is $335.00. If the initial deposit of $120.00 has been received you will shortly receive via email and QParents an invoice for $215.00. Final payment must be received by 3pm Wednesday 28 July 2021.
LATE PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. REMEMBER: PERMISSION IS NOT PAYMENT and PAYMENT IS NOT PERMISSION.
If you wish for your child/student to participate in the activity, please complete the Consent Form PAGE 2 and QCCC Participant Declaration Form PAGE 4 and return to your child's classroom teacher by Wednesday 28 July 2021. You will then receive a dietary requirements and medical form to complete and return to school.
