As we celebrate World Teachers' Day, I want to also acknowledge and congratulate the incredible dedication of our teaching staff. Our teachers are not just educators; they are mentors, cheerleaders, and architects of dreams. They wear many hats, inspiring our students to explore, create, and grow, often going above and beyond to ensure each child feels valued and supported. Their hard work extends far beyond the curriculum, fostering an environment where curiosity, kindness and resilience flourish.
The notion that it takes a village to raise a child is vibrantly evident when we step back and reflect upon the diverse and impactful contributions our teachers make for your children every day. Their moral obligation is to the whole child; so to those who lead our students on school camps, and those who guide, coach and mentor our student leaders and our sporting academy teams, those who tutor and showcase our talented musicians, those who open up opportunities to learn and grow, delivering curriculum with passion and joy, I am so grateful for your efforts in making these events not only possible but memorable too.
A special thank you to those who led the first of our Prep orientation days for our newest students joining us in 2025. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the next generation into our Coorparoo family! Likewise the success of our Grandparents' Day was a true testament to the incredible community we have built here at CSS.
As we reflect on our teachers' hard work, it is also timely to remember that their classrooms are their workplaces before, during and after school. For those wishing to meet with teachers, please pre arrange a time beforehand so that each conversation can be given the attention it deserves. Our teachers are eager to connect and collaborate with you in supporting your child's educational journey.
Looking ahead, we have a wealth of exciting events and activities planned! From more sports and music to various commemorations and celebrations, there is so much to look forward to. Please check our website for details and stay connected with all that's happening in our school community.
Lastly I am thrilled for our school captains on the release of their final edition of Coorparoo Corner, our student magazine! This edition beautifully captures some of the rich history of our great school and showcases the hard work of our students. You can find it available for viewing on our school website: https://coorparooss.eq.edu.au/calendar-and-news/newsletters
As we welcome back Mr Murphy next week, I want to thank you for your continued support as I have led our school community in his absence. It has been a privilege and an honour.
