As we reach the end of another term, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the tremendous efforts and accomplishments of our school community. First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teaching teams and support staff. Their unwavering commitment and hard work have been instrumental in providing our students with a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
This week you have received your child's progress reports on their academic achievement. These occasions are a time to celebrate the hard work, to take time to reflect on the little things and together to set goals for the future.
One of the highlights of my day is welcoming and saying goodbye to our students. It's truly a joy to be part of such an amazing community, and I am continually impressed by the warmth and positivity that our students bring each day.
A special thank you goes out to our Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association for their remarkable efforts this term, particularly in organizing the recent Bush Dance and Spellathon. These events not only enrich our school community but also foster a sense of togetherness and fun.
Our school musical is currently in full swing with rehearsals. It is inspiring to see our talented students working hard, supported by an equally dedicated parent production team. I have had the pleasure of hearing some of the rehearsals, and I can confidently say that it is shaping up to be an outstanding performance.
This week, we were privileged to host the South Side Strings Camp. The concerts our children participated in were nothing short of amazing, showcasing the incredible talent within our school.
Looking ahead to next term, we have some significant changes planned for our inclusion services. These improvements are aimed at better supporting all our students and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Additionally, we have been conducting netball trials this week. My thanks to Monique Elliott and Clare Ferguson for their efforts in running these trials. There will be some further call-backs early next term before the final teams are announced.
I am excited to share some upcoming developments across our school. During the holidays, we will be upgrading our hall with new stage curtains and lighting. These enhancements will significantly improve our student performance opportunities, supporting musical productions and various events throughout the year.
Additionally, we will continue our heritage window restoration project, replace old plumbing and drainage systems, and update the flooring in several classrooms. These improvements are essential in ensuring our facilities remain safe and conducive to learning.
I am also thrilled to announce some exciting news from the recent state budget. We have secured a significant grant to support our ongoing work to upgrade the Wolff Park classrooms. This funding will enable us to create even better learning environments for our students. We will provide more details as the project progresses.
As we head into the vacation period, I wish all our students, families, and staff a relaxing and much-needed break. There is significant sickness in the community, and this time to recharge and refresh will be invaluable. I look forward to seeing everyone back next term, healthy and rejuvenated.
