Wet and Extreme Weather - CSS Protocols

This time of year brings the almost predictable hot and extreme weather including storms.

Some days we get that heavy downpour right on the start of a playtime or going home time. This brings with it some challenges for staff and students alike. Decisions regarding alternatives to play breaks and release procedures are always made with the safety of your children as paramount.

If severe weather at the end of the school day is a cause of concern for the Leadership Team, teachers will be asked to keep their students in their care in their designated campus areas until the weather passes. We do appreciate that this will add time to the regular after school collection routines and that sometimes these decisions are forced at the last minute so your support and understanding as to why the decisions are made is appreciated.

If your child travels home via public transport we would encourage you to speak with their teacher in regards to your wishes in these type of events. We reiterate again that keeping your child safe is our priority in these instances.

Attached to this email is a detailed description of our protocols for pick up, in the event of wet or extreme weather conditions. Please ensure you read this thoroughly and also share the contents with your children. All of our departure points are supervised every afternoon.
