Our school offers students an opportunity to be part of the Coorparoo Enrichment and Extension in Mathematics ( CMEE) program.
The program is for students who have achieved exceptional results and have demonstrated aptitude and interest in mathematics.
Deputy Principal and former University education lecturer, Mr Will Windsor, works with these identified students to further develop their capacity to solve problems strategically. The fundamental idea of the CMEE program is to collaboratively work with and encourage students to deeply analyse a full range of increasingly sophisticated problems, strategies and concepts. Ultimately we facilitate a way of working and thinking that encourages student's curiosity of mathematics.
The programs provides students with exciting opportunities to work with academic guest presenters each month from one of the school's University partnerships including George Booker ( Griffith University) Dr Rebecca Seah ( RMIT University), Professor Chris Tisdell ( UNSW) .
Our students also compete against students form across Australasia with mathematical competitions playing an important part in developing and recognising students interest in mathematics.
Our school has been recognised by the Queensland Association of Math teachers as a gold standard school for our teaching of math which is something we are very proud of.
