Coorparoo State School has an active Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association who work to unite the school community and to support the needs and aims of the school.
P&C membership is open to all parents, guardians, carers and friends who want to positively input into the life of the school. Volunteers meet regularly, and share their time, energy and skills in different ways. It’s an easy way to meet other parents, to take an active part in your child’s education and to have fun!
Broadly, the P&C aims to:
- Build cooperation and communication between parents, teachers and students and to promote positive experiences for the wider school community
- Fundraise to improve facilities and resources and to meet the needs and aims of the school
Some of the services the P&C administers include the Tuckshop, the Uniform shop and funding for the School Community Liaison Officer.

School Community Liaison Officer (SCLO)
The P&C fund the employment of a School Community Liaison Officer (SCLO) who helps to bring all sections of the school community together. Facilitating this kind of cooperation builds a rich and inclusive learning environment for our children.
Specifically, the SCLO is responsible for hosting social events, providing information to parents about the school and educational issues, fostering community networks, developing volunteer networks within the school and keeping lines of communication open between teaching staff, administration, students and parents. The SCLO also manages the Parent Classroom Representative Program. If you would like to get in touch, please email Leisa Whybird our School Community Liaison Officer at

Volunteering
The P&C relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers for many tasks. Special interest groups, such as parents of the Music Working Group and Swim Club, also form part of the P&C’s activities. Please consider where you could get involved. If you would like to contact the P&C – or to join or volunteer – please email
