Coorparoo State School maintains a "state of the art" Music Block which was built in 2003 and includes: a large class teaching space, one sound proof rehearsal room, a large instrumental teaching room and a number of smaller store rooms for instruments.

Instrumental Music Program
This school runs a very large and successful Instrumental Music Program, aided by the support of the Music Committee.
Strings lessons are available for selected students from Years 3 - 6. Brass, woodwind or percussion instruction is available to selected students from Years 5 - 6. Selection occurs towards the end of Year 2 and Year 4. Information is sent home to parents at that time.
The students in this program receive weekly lessons for their instrument, given by specialist teachers. Upon selection to the program, a school instrument may be hired for the first twelve months of tuition, and certain large instruments may be hired for longer periods.
Students learning any of the less expensive instruments will be required to purchase their own instrument after that first year. Details of costs and instrument hire fees and further information on the music program is available in the Music Handbook.
Students in the program are offered the opportunity to play in the Senior or Junior Band, and the Strings Orchestra. Some students also participate in small ensemble work. Each year, Coorparoo State School performs at MusicFest, SingFest, Education Week, Prom Concerts, Gala, fetes and other events as opportunities arise throughout the school year.
We pride ourselves on our instrumental music program and endeavour to give each child an insight into the world of music.
