To enhance students’ learning, some classes may take part in special activities, either at school or away from it. Every effort will be made to provide information about planned excursions through term overviews and on our school website.
On each occasion, you will be notified and your consent will be sought for your child’s participation via QParents Consent. Students will be unable to attend these events if consent from parents/caregivers is not received, if there is a cost, it is to be paid in full before final date for payment
Parents’ help in attending excursions to assist with supervision will sometimes be requested.
All excursions and in-school activities require consent from a parent or caregiver to participate. The Consent will always outline the details of the activity and any associated cost. There are times where there is no cost involved however consent is still required.
Where payment is required for an activity, an Invoice will be emailed home and also available through QParents. Unfortunately the Invoice and Consent have to be sent separately.
The camping program offered to students in Years 5 and 6 each year are an integral part of our co-curriculum program. The camps are designed to allow students to experience activities that will require risk taking, leadership, team work, independence and problem solving.
Year 5 and Year 6 Camps
In 2023, we are planning separate three day and two night camp experiences which allows students opportunities to participate in a variety of activities on land and on/in water. These may include archery, climbing wall, ropes courses and team building games. All activities are led by professional and well qualified camp instructors. Students are accompanied by Coorparoo State School teachers and staff.
The camps are planned for venues on the Sunshine Coast.
The anticipated costs for camps are $350.00 - $400.00
Please note the following dates for both Camps in 2023:
Year 6 – QCCC Mapleton (Rainforest):
Wednesday 18 October – Friday 20 October 2023.
Year 5 – Alex Park in Alexandra Headlands (Beach):
