About Our Tuckshop (TramStop 26)

Our Tuckshop (called TramStop 26) aims to provide an affordable food service that encourages our children to choose healthy meal options.

Nearly everything at TramStop 26 is made fresh each day using organic meat, free range eggs and fruit and veggies straight from the markets. Many items are free from gluten, eggs and dairy. TramStop26 can also provide your children with homemade birthday treats or ice blocks delivered straight to their classroom.

Our Tuckshop is a member of the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops and Nutrition Australia. From these organisations we receive a wealth of information about nutrition and how to apply good principles of nutrition in school tuckshops. Our Tuckshop Convenor regularlyattends seminars on nutrition and safe food-handling practices.

The Tuckshop Convenor who is employed by the P&C, manages the Tuckshop. The convenor runs the Tuckshop with the assistance of a merry band of much-valued volunteers.

Tuckshop is open every day and provides both morning tea and big lunch. A summer menu is sent home at the beginning of Terms 1 & 4. A winter menu is sent home at the beginning of Term 2. Menus are available to download below or from the tuckshop or office.

Tuckshop Volunteers

The Tuckshop cannot exist without its volunteer helpers. We welcome help from Mums, Dads, grandparents, other caregivers, friends, etc. The Tuckshop always needs more helpers. Roster yourself on with a friend, or come on your own and make new friends. Help is required from 8:30am to 1:30pm each day, but if you can give even an hour or two, this is still very welcome – we can make use of any time you are able to give us. There are many advantages of volunteering to work at school. Parents have mentioned the following as reasons they choose to work at the Tuckshop:

  • It helps our children and the school

  • It is good to meet other parents

  • Children enjoy seeing their parents at school

  • It is a chance to get to know the children’s friends and their teachers

  • It is a lot of fun

  • It is a way of making a worthwhile contribution to the children’s nutrition education by supporting teachers in their health program

  • You get a chance to talk to other people with similar interests (e.g. parents with children of similar ages and issues).

Interested in helping out?

Have you got a spare 20 minutes after school drop off?  If so, we would love you to help us get the day going in the Tuck Shop.  No experience or cooking is required.

Just stop in any Monday to Friday. The roller door is down in the mornings before school but we are busy inside.  Please come to the side door and you'll find us inside.
