All of Coorparoo is shouting from the rooftops about this exciting musical adaptation of the classic tale of Mary Poppins. Join the Banks family as they encounter adventure after fun-filled adventure with their curious new nanny, Mary Poppins. This 90min musical has been adapted for young performers and includes favourite songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!” With colourful characters, a delightful story line and toe tapping tunes, Mary Poppins JR. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages!
If your child is interested in auditioning for a lead role or singing in the choir ensemble, access the necessary information (download songs and sheet music) in the link below so that your child can prepare for the audition (leads) and first rehearsal (chorus). You will also need to complete the Parent Permission Form to confirm parental consent for your child to take part in the rehearsals and production.
Auditions
Production launch and auditions for lead roles take place on Sunday 21 April from 1:00pm to 6:00pm in the School Hall.
Lead roles - only students in Years 5 and 6 can audition for lead roles.
Signup sheet in the Music Room. Lyric sheets and tracks for auditions can be downloaded from the link above to be learned over the school holidays. Call back auditions will be held on the following Sunday 28 April.
Chorus ensemble and backstage crew – Years 3, 4, 5 and 6
No audition/interview required. Signup sheets in the Music Room. Students are invited to the first hour on Sunday 21 April to understand how the production will work and understand the commitment involved. Those who have signed up for the chorus ensemble are asked to learn the song below over the school holidays for the first rehearsal in Week 3 Sunday 5 May.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will start on in Week 3 (Sunday 5 May) Term 2 and run through to Term 3 leading up to the production in August. Rehearsals will take place on Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00pm (for lead roles only) and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00pm (for all cast). There will be a final all day dress rehearsal on the Ekka Show holiday 14 August.
