In Mr Murphy's absence I wanted to take the moment to connect with you all to address an important matter and share some exciting updates with you.

As we near the end of the winter season, we have seen a significant rise in the number of staff and students absent from school due to illnesses. We kindly remind you that if your child is unwell, it is crucial to keep them at home and ensure they have adequate time to recover before returning to school. This helps not only in their full recovery but also in preventing the spread of illnesses within our school community.

In more uplifting news, we are thrilled to announce that our musical cast and crew are preparing for their performances of Mary Poppins Junior at the end of this week. Their dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and we wish them all the best for their performances. We encourage you to come along and support their remarkable efforts – tickets are still available.

Additionally, a heartfelt thanks goes out to our dedicated parent and staff volunteers who have been invaluable in supporting all of our students ahead of opening night.

We are also excited to celebrate National Science Week. This annual event provides a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in a variety of hands-on science activities and experiments. It's a great way to spark curiosity and foster a love for science among our students. We look forward to seeing the enthusiasm and creativity that our students will bring to this week of discovery.

We would also like to highlight the National Week of Action against Bullying, which takes place this week. Each class is participating in daily activities to promote the theme that 'everyone belongs'. To show their support and stand united against bullying, we are inviting all students and staff to wear orange this Friday. This simple gesture helps raise awareness and demonstrate our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

Next week is Book Week, and we are excited to celebrate with a range of activities including book character parades and author visits. Please check our school website for detailed information about the schedule and events. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the world of literature and engage with their favourite characters and authors.

Lastly, as we celebrate the impressive achievements of our athletes during the Olympics, we also turn our attention to the upcoming Paralympic Games in France. We hope to see everyone supporting our Paralympians with the same enthusiasm and pride, as they showcase their incredible talents and determination on the world stage.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making our school a wonderful place for learning and growth.

John Kennedy, Acting Principal
