As we come to the close of another productive term, I want to extend my thanks to our Staff for their incredible work. I also want to thank you, the families of our school for your dedication and efforts continuing to make Coorparoo State School a wonderful and engaging place for our children to learn and thrive.
School Review
I am delighted to report on the successful school review that took place last week. This School-Led Review has been a collective effort, spanning several months, with a dedicated team of eight staff members gathering evidence and data, and in the final stage, conducting interviews with Students, Parents/Carers, and Staff. I want to extend my thanks to the P&C members and the wider parent body for your invaluable input throughout this process.
The review team, led by Senior Reviewer Kylie Smith and supported by our School Supervisor Daniel Duke, were glowing in their praise of the work we do at Coorparoo State School. Most notably, they commended the strong, positive culture we have built together. This review is a testament to the efforts of our entire community. We expect to receive the final report early next term, which will guide the development of our new strategic plan for 2025–2029.
School Facilities Update
In other news, I am pleased to announce that the shade structures on Carey Field have now been replaced. Additionally, our Window Restoration Project continues, with the 5/6D classroom scheduled for completion after the break. During the upcoming holidays, work will also be done in the school office and on the northern end of the library, so we can look forward to refreshed spaces next term.
Term 3 Activities
This week, our Languages Other Than English (LOTE) students enjoyed the Annual Oktoberfest celebration of culture, which is always a highlight for them. There have also been some incredible excursions to the Beenleigh Historical Village by our year two classes. Some say the best excursion ever!
Of course, the major event of the year the Coorparoo Wolff Park Football Tournament was played this week between the Wentworth and Turner Teams. Thanks to Mr Windsor for his efforts in organising and running this much-loved event again this year.
Three Way Conferences
Three Way Conferences are drawing to a close, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to our teachers for their dedication in working in partnership with parents and students. These interviews are a crucial part of sharing the learning journey for our students, and I appreciate the effort that has gone into them.
