I am thrilled to share the success of our Winter Music Concert last night. These performances highlighted the incredible talents of our students and underscored the importance of arts in our community. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire community for your unwavering support of the arts.

A special thank you to our dedicated music department: Samantha, Margo, Alicia, Nicole, Leanne, Kirsty, and Matt. Your hard work and passion for music are truly inspiring. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to the other staff members who assisted with the management of children, backstage responsibilities, and technical support. Your contributions were essential in ensuring the smooth running of these events.

A very special thanks to Dean Watkins for his expertise in running the sound desk. His professional touch helped elevate our concerts to new heights. Our students are incredibly fortunate to be in an environment that nurtures their talents and provides them with opportunities to thrive and experience the joys of music.

We are excited and looking forward to our upcoming musical Mary Poppins. This event will showcase our student’s talent and provide another opportunity for students to be part of the arts. It would not be possible without our community, your talents, enthusiasm for making the difference for our children and providing a challenging and creative opportunity for our children the grow and experience theatre. Thank you to our P&C for their support to make this possible.

We have commenced much needed upgrades to our hall facilities that will be in place for our musical! Our stage curtains have seen better days and no longer meet new standards for safety. New stunning curtains will be installed during the school break. We are also updating our lighting rigs finally moving from analogue to digital/ led stage lights. This will give us more capacity and reduce long term maintenance issue we currently experience. The final upgrade is still in planning to repair and repaint the cyclorama. The edition of a laser projector will enable us to use digital sets and expand our production capacity.

Today marks the commencement of the restoration of our B Block heritage windows. This significant project has been made possible through funding from our Education Department. The restoration process will involve classes being temporarily relocated one room at a time while the windows are restored off-site. There will be exclusion zones during the works. As each class undergoes restoration, it will be moved to the B09 classroom on the ground floor of B Block. Today, this means that 4P will be moving to this space. Please note that access via the administration car park will be closed during this period.

Lastly, I want to remind everyone that the Senior Athletics Carnival for Years 3-6 will be held on June 10-11. Parents are welcome to come and support our young athletes. Thank you in advance to our sports department and grounds staff for their efforts in organizing this important event.

Thank you all once again for your support and dedication.

Warm Regards, Dean Murphy
