- Students competing in 25m events DO NOT need to nominate. They nominate on the day when the 25m events of their choice are announced.
- If students are competing for Age Champion, it is highly recommended (but not compulsory) to nominate for all 50m events and the 200 IM. Exception is 9 Yrs students who only do 50m events (no 200IM)
- Students need to have nominations in by Friday 21st November so races can be finalised. If students have been away for their PE lesson, please email Miss Morgan (tjmor3@eq.edu.au) to inform her of your child's nomination.
Results & Ribbons
- Results will be finalised after the carnival.
- Age champions will be most likely be presented at the conclusion of the carnival (time permitting).
- Students who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in 50m events and 200IM events will receive their ribbons at a later date once all data has been collected.
- 50m events only will count towards 9yr olds Age Champion.
- 50m and 200IM count towards 10-12yr olds Age Champion.
Important information
- There are no set times for events, they will however, progress in the above order.
- Students must have a swim cap on for their race-do not rely on borrowing one from school or other students!
- Please wear something appropriate to race in ie. no string bikini tops.
- Large containers of cold water will be provided for students to fill up their water bottle during the day.
- Students are permitted to come to school wearing their swimmers under their school uniform. This will alleviate the need for all students to go into the change rooms at the beginning of the day.
- Parents are invited to attend on the day. Please bring a hat and/or umbrella as the marquees and shaded areas will be prioritised for students.
Sun protection
- Students are not required to race in a rash shirt, however when they are not swimming MUST put a shirt/rashie back on.
- Please discuss sun safety with your child. Please discuss the importance of being out of direct sunlight, wearing a shirt and hat when not competing and also applying and re-applying sunscreen throughout the day. There will be sunscreen available on the day.
