School Football Trials – 17 March
A reminder to all players who have nominated that football trials will soon be held for selection to attend the Under 12 (born 2014) Central Sharks District Football Trials.
During the trials, players will be assessed using the development framework from Football Australia. Selectors will observe players across a range of areas to ensure a fair and balanced evaluation of each player's abilities.
Players will be assessed on:
- Technical capacity – including ball control, passing, dribbling and first touch
- Ball manipulation and technique – the ability to confidently control and move with the ball and capacity to take advantage of overload situations
- Match play decision-making – awareness, positioning and the ability to make effective choices during play
- Physical attributes – including speed and agility in game situations
These trials to held Tuesday 17 March starting at 11am on Carey Field will provide players with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and game awareness in match-based activities. Players should bring their football boots, football socks and shinpads. Alternatively, shin pads will be available. Additionally, goalkeepers should bring their gloves
Please also note that the offside rule is used at the regional level, and players should be aware of this during trial games.
Please note the District trial will be held in Term 2.
We wish all players the very best for the upcoming trials.
Yours in sport,
Will Windsor
